FY27 is an Obten projection of a modest recovery back toward the FY23 level, helped by the February 2026 easing of US tariffs on Indian goods, from the roughly 50 percent regime to about 15 to 18 percent after the 25 percent punitive duty was removed and the Supreme Court struck down the IEEPA tariffs, alongside EPCH's growth-oriented handicraft outlook. The India-EU FTA concluded January 2026 is a further forward signal, not yet in force.

Moradabad, Peetal Nagri, has worked brass since the Mughal era and today concentrates around 600 export units and thousands of workshops in one district. It contributes an estimated 40 percent plus of India's handicraft exports and roughly a quarter via metalware alone. Casting, sheet work, electroplating, powder coating and packing all sit within the cluster, so hardware, lighting and decor buyers can move from sample to container faster than anywhere comparable.
